Offscreen Expedition 2007

The Offscreen Student Expedition will be using the Digital Explorer methodology that was pioneered on a youth expedition to the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. It combines the latest satellite, digital media and web technologies with youth expeditions, meaning that pupils become reporters and ambassadors broadcasting back from the field to their peers in the UK.

The artworks and video diaries the students create during their journey will be beamed back to the UK, via satellite, taking audiences “off screen” every day. Through the power of art, this expedition will communicate a fresh and positive picture based on direct experience, not media stereotypes. The journey of nine young people will be the platform to inspire countless more.
