lucys 5th day!

12th February 2007

This morning we got up really early again, and i think today the tiredness really hit everyone. we could barely open our eyes, which was annoying because then we went to see the grand mosque which was really amazing! The way it was built and the materials they used made it feel really special. not only that, but it was realy peaceful and made me understand how the muslim religion works, whcih was inspiring! we then met up with some omani girls and boys who we paired off with and did some large drawings around the mosque, which turned out nicely!! then we went back to our giant house and hung around for a few hours doing art and explopring the local beaches etc! it was a really nice day and relaxing too. in the evening we went for a meal in what apeared to be some kind fo penny museum, which was cool but we were still soo tired!! then we went souq market where we got some kick ass scarves for our desert expedition starting tomorow!! its gonna be assome!! anyway, must sleep night night! x

    Hi Lucy

Sounds like a fabulous time you’re having. Why not many pictures or video for the last day or so?

Is Sam alive and well? Do you think he might write something soon?

I look forward to the next installment!

    Hello to all of you!

I have been tracking you trip with great envy. What an amazing insight you are getting. I love reading all your comments and reflections..keep them coming. I particularly enjoy reading about what surprises you and when you draw comparisons with life in the UK (similarities and differences). You seem to be having such a positive experience of the Middle East which is so contrary to what we hear on the news. Talk to as many people as possible and keep your eyes and ears open to get as detailed a picture as possible. Other people back in the Uk have so much to learn from you. Don’t worry, you’ll have your work cut out for you when you return back to school! We can’t wait to hear more from you.

Lucy, this is SO INTERESTING for us! We really feel like you are getting more and more of an insight into life in the Middle East, through your comments, the videos and the pics. How is your job going as chief photographer? Have you been taking many of the pics that are being put onto the website? (The photos at the mosque are amazing - I love the arabic patterns.) Hope you are feeling a little less tired now, but at least you know that you are making the most of every second of this life-changing expedition and experience. Love youXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Hi Lucy Locket
We are really enjoying the pictures and videos. The pictures taken in the mosque were absolutely brilliant. Also the art pictures were excellent. This must be like a dream for you all - experiencing how the people in the middle east live and their ways of life. I think you might want to sleep for a week when you come back but you must not miss a second of your time while you are there. Keep on enjoying it all. Lots of Love Gags M and J XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
