Dagenham Park
Dagenham Park Community School
is a Year 11-18 comprehensive with Arts College status. The school has pupils from a wide range of ethnic groups (many of them asylum seekers and refugees) and sees high levels of student mobility. The school serves an area of deprivation, with the number of students entitled to free meals well above the national average. One third of all students have special educational needs, including 73 who have a Statement of Special Educational Need and more than 10% who are in the early stages of learning English. The school also has a designated unit for 30 students who have moderate learning difficulties.

Forest GateForest Gate Community School is an average-sized, mixed community comprehensive with 1039 students in Year 7 - 11. The school has a high percentage of students eligible for free school meals and a high number of students who speak English as an additional language. Over 10% of students are refugees or asylum seekers. The school also hosts the borough’s City Learning Centre.

PlashetPlashet School is a Year 11 – 16 community comprehensive for girls. With 1333 pupils, the school is larger than most secondary schools. Pupils represent a very wide range of backgrounds and heritages, with the largest proportion coming from various Asian backgrounds. The percentage of students whose mother tongue is not English is an astonishing 92.6%.

Crown Woods School
is the largest mixed comprehensive school in London and holds Specialist Humanities status. Most pupils are from white heritage backgrounds with just over a quarter coming from Black, Pakistani, Indian and Chinese backgrounds. The school receives extra funds to support the achievements of 508 ethnic minority pupils. 36% of its pupils have special learning needs, which is well above the national average. When pupils join the school at the start of Year 7, many fall well below average of national educational standards.
