The Offscreen Student Expedition can provide Art & Design teachers with a wealth of source material and inspiration for schemes of work suitable across the Key Stages. From the futuristic architecture in Dubai to the incredible variety of fashions and dresses to be found in the Arabian Peninsula, we hope you can make use of some of the ideas and resources listed below.

Arabian and Islamic Patterns: On Day 4 pupils will be visiting Oman’s largest Mosque where Islamic Patterns from around the world have been used to decorate the building. Throughout the expedition students will be recording how Arabian and Islamic patterns are used and appropriated in the culture through which they are travelling.

Cityscapes: on Day 2 the pupils will be sketching and photographing Dubai’s famous skyline from the Emirates Tower. On Day 4 the pupils will be in Oman’s capital Muscat, where they will be visiting the country’s largest Mosque.
