The Offscreen Student Expedition for use in the Geography classroom:

The pupils will be experiencing ‘extreme environments’ when they take a balloon trip across the Emirati desert on Day 3 and when they spend Day 8 and Day 9 in the Wahiba Sands, the largest self contained desert in the world.

Resources for life in cities will be produced when we spend time in the ever increasing metropolis of Dubai on Day 2 and Day 4.

Pupils will be able to compare the difference in settlement and habitation using images and Google Earth tours between Dubai (one of the fastest growing cities in the world) and Sur (a traditional fishing port on the Arabian Sea).

In addition the images and resources on the Offscreen Expedition website as the basis for teaching the Unit 12: Images of a country, from the DfES Standards site schemes for Key Stage 3 Geography.

Watch this page over the coming months for further resources generated from the expedition!
