Mohammad’s early start
5 AM… The Day starts. Inverness Airport, then to Manchester.. We went there to Islamic schools, we had an interesting chat with the students, the main topic was the Hijab, in the girls school, what did led to continue the religious chat later at the dinner… The positive side it’s that we had a way to contact more with each other, but it doesn’t mean that we found any solutions or anything new… Same words, different people, that’s how the world is going, a soft war where the people left their guns, and focussed on choosing clever words and accents to approve that they’re right… Anyway thanks offscreen for the contact. I wish if we could pass from the contact to the understanding level…
Mohammad’s thoughts on trees and the environment
The environment… It’s a place that we must respect… Because we are part of it, it’s a miracle as well… The earth, our last bed.. I’m talking about respect because only peopole who respect themself and the clever peopole as well, can help the environment and protect himself and the humanity finaly…
today we helped the tfl ( trees for life), it’s a programme to protect the nature ( especialy the trees and forests) in Scotland. Our job was to cut some trees that don’t realy belong to the area, and realy dangeorous for the other trees, the fantastic skottish trees like the skottish pine… After they will cut all the trees they will plant other trees.. It lets me remind the activities that i’m used to hear about it in my country, to protect the cedars, the heart of our national fllag, and the heart of Lebanon…
Lebanon, scotland or anywhere i learned today something important, and i think that we need to apply it in all the world.
Abir’s thoughts on trees and the environment
I was proud of the Lebanese cedars but I was a little confused about some posters that said ‘11% left’ with picture of it. When I knew that we were going to cut trees i was mad and upset and thought it is murder but i knew that those beautiful Scots trees were replaced by foreign trees,so although I didn’t change my mind about it being murder, i thought it was fair to put the original trees back in their home land. At this day I realized what those posters meant and became more conscious about the importance of our cedars and the danger they are in.
Land art - Azooz and Abir
Land Art - Mohammad D & Jawahir
It was amazing to make art and mix between nature and man-made stuff. It remided us that we cant live without something authentic … something true, pure… We love it because it reminds us that we are part of nature, that we must protect our environment. We made a wonderful butterfly from leaves and stones because I love butterflies. I love to imagine that i am a beautiful butterfly. We also made another piece using a candle, internet cable and batteries. It shows the power of life and how people make wars to have the artificial power when we are surrounced by the power of nature. Me and Mohamed were a great team and we enjoyed it very much. Acutully we made a beautiful gallary with many wonderful pieces.
