Mohammad’s thoughts on trees and the environment

The environment… It’s a place that we must respect… Because we are part of it, it’s a miracle as well… The earth, our last bed.. I’m talking about respect because only peopole who respect themself and the clever peopole as well, can help the environment and protect himself and the humanity finaly…
today we helped the tfl ( trees for life), it’s a programme to protect the nature ( especialy the trees and forests) in Scotland. Our job was to cut some trees that don’t realy belong to the area, and realy dangeorous for the other trees, the fantastic skottish trees like the skottish pine… After they will cut all the trees they will plant other trees.. It lets me remind the activities that i’m used to hear about it in my country, to protect the cedars, the heart of our national fllag, and the heart of Lebanon…
Lebanon, scotland or anywhere i learned today something important, and i think that we need to apply it in all the world.

Abir’s thoughts on trees and the environment

I was proud of the Lebanese cedars but I was a little confused about some posters that said ‘11% left’ with picture of it. When I knew that we were going to cut trees i was mad and upset  and thought it is murder but i knew that those beautiful Scots trees were replaced by foreign trees,so although I didn’t change my mind about it being  murder, i thought it was fair to put the original trees back in their home land. At this day I realized what those posters meant and became more conscious about the importance of our cedars and the danger they are in.

The UK’s only Carniverous Plants

They can eat people too!

She is what she says she is.. a Superstar!

Two days of rest out in the wilderness.. Yasmine was waiting for us. Everyone was excited to see her and continue the journey through the highlands…

We drove through valleys and hillsides out to the middle of nowhere where we parked her up and went to cut down trees (to save trees.. natures as complicated as people). She would have most certainly enjoyed the destruction was she given the chance. For the first time on the expedition the sun machine really came out (and the girls greased her up which left her with a glowing tan).

And so she continues her epic journey, leaving the highlands, lochs, waterfalls and monsters of Scotland behind her as she heads to the land of the valley of books… See you on the other side!
