Nine years

Today the team was given an hour and a half to explore the National Media Museum in Bradford before an animation workshop. Jena and I went to every single floor and every single exhibit. We really liked the photography exhibit called We England; especially the photo from 1840 that needed to be covered by a curtain to protect it from fading.

I read an interesting statistic in the TV exhibit that said people will spend an average of nine years of thier lives watching TV,  and I’ve decided to stop watching TV.

I think media plays an important role in shaping the way young people interact and see the world, so I’m very happy it has been a reoccurring topic at Offscreen.

Lifes long walks

Today we took a walk up to Malham Tarn, and it lasted about three hours. It was such a physical and mental challenge, but one well worth taking on. Once we arrived at Malham we took about an hour to sit at the lake and reflect on what we have learned from the trip so far. We were asked to write down one pledge we plan to make as a result of this trip, mine was to be more positive regarding my ability to create change in the world. Hopefully I will be able to stick to my pledge like I stuck to the trail and finished our little walk today.
