Enfield
Year 10 GCSE
As part of Phase 3 of the British Museum’s Artists-in-Schools project, British-Saudi graphic designer, Lulwah Al-Homoud, worked alongside art teachers, Anna Constantinou and Darren Glyde, with a group of Year 10 GCSE students on a project exploring traditional and contemporary Islamic Art. Drawing on Lulwahs own work as a practicing graphic artist and supported by research gathered during a visit to the British Museums Islamic Gallery, students used Arabic translations of their own names to develop personal signature designs using calligraphy, geometry and arabesque.
