Forest Gate

As part of Phase 2 of the British Museum’s Artists-in-Schools project, British-Palestinian-Egyptian photographer and journalist, Saeed Farouky, worked with a group of Year 11 GCSE students over 6 sessions on a project exploring the dual themes of identity and refugees. Saeed asked students to look at contemporary practice, media imagery and their local environment in Forest Gate as inspiration for their work. Students used photography, photomontage and collage and worked towards a final piece to become part of their GCSE portfolio.
