“Anyway, today was another fun packed day, with the latifa school for girls. Went to a farm, that belongs to one of the students. They layed on a banquet for us, well 3 banquets actually, breakfast, lunch and dinner. We spent the day, drawing camels, producing this huge land art in the sand.It was exhausting We were digging trenches for hours and there was camel poo everywhere! But at first we were mistaking it for pebbles and picking them up and throwing them out
But itwas all good fun and the final art piece was quite spectacular. We then dressed up in traditional clothes, which we got to keep, had henna done..the girls, not me and basically ate more food. The Latifa girls were amazing, so hospitable, not at all the stereotypical sheltered women we all imagine, but quite westernised in their thinking. They are great artists and they were the perfect hostesses and we all had a fantastic time.”
