The Challenge: in just two days to create a large and meaningful mural for the boardroom of the newly refurbished Arab British Centre (ABC) in London. Offscreen founder, Stephen Stapleton and Arts coordinator Annie Herne worked with a group of highly motivated and talented A level art students from four local schools, to create an artwork which embodied the spirit, and explored the challenges of UK - Middle Eastern relations. The workshop was a competition and the winning design (which illustrated the media’s narrow view of the Arab world) will be displayed at the ABC for 6 months. Because both designs were so accomplished the ABC trustees and staff have decided to display both murals on rotation. Well done to all participating students … you did brilliantly. And a big thank you to Annie for continued enthusiasm and support. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
